Prince George gets a Spanish nanny

Prince George has a Spanish nanny. Hello! magazine reported that Mar¨ªa Teresa Turri¨®n Borrallo, who hails from Palencia, has been hired to look after the seven-month-old son of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Kensington Palace released the information on Thursday and asked the media to refrain from harassing Turri¨®n¡¯s family. The Spaniard is 43 and a graduate of Norland College, an elite childcare training school in Bath that has produced babysitters for celebrities and aristocrats.

This is the first time that a foreigner has been put in charge of a member of the British royal family, and it is a symbolic move at a time when anti-immigration sentiment is sweeping across Europe.

The training at Norland includes martial arts lessons and stunt driving, which employers find very useful when trying to avoid the paparazzi. The children of rock star Mick Jagger were raised by a graduate of the center.

Turri¨®n reportedly graduated with honors from Norland. While it is unclear whom she has worked for in the past, several London high society families reportedly recommended her to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The Telegraph reported that Turri¨®n has a brother who is a concert musician, another who was ordained as a priest in 2011, and a third who works in academia.

The British press has been pressing for more information about Turri¨®n, who is apparently unmarried and without children of her own. According to a friend of the royal couple, ¡°she is married to her work.¡±

Her first mission will be to travel with Prince William, Kate Middleton and young George on an official 17-day trip to New Zealand and Australia.
