SEAN HANNITY, HOST: If you thought you knew the extent of Rahm “Rahmbo Dead Fish” Emanuel’s foul mouth you may not have even scratched the surface. New York Magazine is reporting on the details contained in a new book by Newsweek correspondent Jonathan Alter.
And it seems that not even the White House dog is safe from Rahmbo’s outburst. Now according to New York Magazine, Rahmbo was frustrated with the new puppy’s frequent accidents inside the White House. And at one point shouted, quote, “I’m going to kill that f-ing dog.”
Now frustrated by a male staffer, “Dead Fish” reportedly ordered him to, quote, “take your f-ing tampon out and tell me what you have to say.”
Wow.
It wasn’t just the little people getting it from Rahmbo. Even former President Bill Clinton was the recipient of a tirade on the campaign trail. Now Rahm reportedly ordered him to, quote, “stop acting like the f-ing hacking chief.”
And joining me now with reaction from the Daily Caller, Fox News contributor, Tucker Carlson, and former White House special counsel, Lanny Davis.
LANNY DAVIS, FORMER WHITE HOUSE SPECIAL COUNSEL: Hey, Sean.
HANNITY: Hey. Hey.
(LAUGHTER)
HANNITY: Hey, Lanny. Is that the Rahmbo that you know?
DAVIS: That’s the f-ing Rahmbo I know.
(LAUGHTER)
HANNITY: Well, alright —
(CROSSTALK)
HANNITY: Honest answer, Lanny. Thank you. No spin for once. I appreciate the honesty.
DAVIS: Look, I was with Rahm in the White House. We had our ups and downs. But let me tell you something, he is effective. He got us back the House of Representatives.
HANNITY: Alright. Forget. I don’t want to hear that.
(CROSSTALK)
DAVIS: And he’s done a great job as chief of staff, but he’s tough.
HANNITY: What if I said to somebody — Tucker, I’ll throw this to you. Any talk show host, conservative, on the radio, on television said, you know, take your f-ing tampon out and tell me what you have to say. What would the reaction be?
I don’t think they would laugh.
TUCKER CARLSON, THE DAILY CALLER: I personally would laugh.
HANNITY: I don’t think liberals would be laughing like Lanny.
CARLSON: No, they wouldn’t — I mean, there is a certain irony here, this former ballet dancer running around using this tough guy language in the middle of the mommy parties, you know what I mean?
All these, like, sensitive men standing around, you know, you’re talking like soldiers. There’s something kind of comedic and maybe a little bit sad about it.
I will say, I sympathize with Rahm in the case with former President Clinton who did actually cause a lot of problems for the Obama people during the campaign. And I can see his frustration. That’s probably pretty good advice —
HANNITY: Alright, but to my point, though. Especially in that particular case, take the tampon out? I — look, why will I think this is going to like everything else — liberals — there’s a double standard that exists out there.
(CROSSTALK)
CARLSON: It’s a great question. Where are all the feminists getting upset — I mean that is clearly a slur against not just some women but all women on planet Earth. Billions of women ought to be offended by that.
HANNITY: Lanny —
CARLSON: According to the feminists.
HANNITY: Well, it’s that and the president himself is reported in this book using the pejorative tea baggers with a sexual connotation, Lanny, in case you didn’t know.
DAVIS: I didn’t.
HANNITY: Yes, you did. You knew darn well what that was. And I can tell it by the look in your eyes so —
(LAUGHTER)
DAVIS: I have no idea. Look, Barack Obama —
HANNITY: You absolutely, positively know exactly that it’s meant as a pejorative —
DAVIS: I’ll ask — after the show is over I’ll ask Tucker what that really means. But remember Barack Obama has said —
HANNITY: Boy, are you in for an education. Go ahead.
DAVIS: Barack Obama said at the White House Correspondents Dinner about Rahm pointing his finger naked and shouting at NASA, welcome to my world. So nobody is surprised by Rahm Emanuel on that side.
HANNITY: Alright.
DAVIS: Everybody knows him also to be a great friend and a great chief of staff.
HANNITY: Forget — alright. I get you —
DAVIS: He’s got both sides.
HANNITY: You give good answers until you give me he’s great, he’s great, he’s effective. I don’t want — that’s not what we’re discussing here.
DAVIS: Well, I’m giving you both sides of Rahm.
HANNITY: Is this what the American people deserve from the people’s house? The president of the United States, his chief of staff, the people leading this country. Do we not deserve better, Tucker?
CARLSON: Well, here’s the problem with it. The president just gave this long self-righteous speech about how the rest of us need to be more civil.
HANNITY: Good point.
CARLSON: How discourse has disintegrated and conservatives are mean and why don’t — you know, why don’t we get back to the work of America and be nice to one another?
And in fact it turns out — remember, this is Jonathan Alter whose career is sucking up to Barack Obama. He is conceding that Obama used this term. I mean it couldn’t be more hypocritical.
By the way, I would like to see the first White House correspondent with the guts whenever the president gains to hold a press conference again. He’s held rarely held press conferences. Ask him point blank, what does that mean? Why don’t you explain that word? What is — what is a tea bagger?
HANNITY: You know —
CARLSON: I think he should be forced to explain.
(CROSSTALK)
HANNITY: He knows what it means, Tucker.
CARLSON: I don’t know. He should have to explain it. Like what is this anyway?
HANNITY: Well, look, you know, you have —
DAVIS: Can somebody explain this to me —
HANNITY: Using it purposely that way, that there’s no doubt in my mind that the president knows what he’s doing. Now you make an interesting point, Tucker. Alter is a total suck-up to the Obama White House. Alright. So —
CARLSON: Total. Total suck-up.
HANNITY: Total suck-up. So Lanny, he’s describing, if you look at some of the other details about Lawrence Summers, about the president, about Rahm Rahmbo, and him going rogue, and Peter Orszag and some other things, he’s describing a White House that is in total chaos.
That he doesn’t seem to have the ability — he has the ability to read a teleprompter, stay on message, run a good campaign, granted he bamboozled a lot of people. But he doesn’t seem to have the ability to manage the government.
Is that problematic for him in the end?
DAVIS: No, the president is doing great. Passed health care, the economy is bouncing back, and Rahm Emanuel deserves a lot of credit.
And I can’t believe we’re spending time on this show with two thoughtful conservatives about this topic.
HANNITY: Lanny, I’ve spent a lot of time warning that we better balance our budget, live within our means —
DAVIS: That’s more important that this topic.
HANNITY: — cut taxes, not raise them and keep America safe. Now we’re just talking about chaos in your White House.
(LAUGHTER)
CARLSON: And I can say I resent being called thoughtful for the record.
(LAUGHTER)
HANNITY: By Lanny, that’s like an expletive from Rahmbo. It’s the same thing.
(LAUGHTER)
